In a remarkable display of commitment to the enhancement of technical and vocational education, the Osun State Government today officially commissioned a significant distribution of instructional materials including modern engineering tools and ICT software to nine Government Technical Colleges across the state.
The event which took place at the Government Technical College, Osogbo, was a landmark occasion that underscored the transformative agenda of the administration of His Excellency, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, in prioritizing education as a pathway to sustainable development and economic empowerment.
The welcome address was delivered by Hon. Dapo Ademola-Adesina, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Technical and Vocational Education. In his speech, he thanked the Executive Secretary of the Board Mr Abayomi Omigbodun for his unwavering support and loyalty in steering the affairs of the board. He expressed gratitude to all dignitaries for their attendance including the representative of the Executive Governor and Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Teslim Igbalaye; Commissioner of Education, Hon. Dipo Eluwole; and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Mr. M.A.K. Jimoh, Executive Secretaries, Directors along with other distinguished guests and board executives.
Hon. Ademola-Adesina highlighted the Federal Government’s plan to support the development of all technical colleges with particular emphasis on those in Osun State. He also highlighted the support of the private sector to partner with the state government in furthering the development of technical education. He encouraged students to embrace their studies with enthusiasm, dedication while recognizing that their commitment to learning would significantly contribute to their personal growth and the future in the development of Osun State.
The Special Adviser commended His Excellency Sen (Dr) Ademola Jackson Adeleke for his unwavering commitment to advancing the education sector and for his visionary approach to the holistic development of the state.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy to equip students with the necessary skills and resources that will empower them for a competitive workforce and foster economic growth within Osun State and beyond.
